The search for more rugby support videos continues—and this time, we’ve gone Down Under! 🌏
As many of you know, I’ve been hunting for videos from rugby legends to lift Sammy’s spirits. Why? Because every single one of these messages puts a huge smile on his face—and, let’s be honest, I’m a bit of a rugby fan too… but let’s keep that between us. 🤫
So where better to go next than South Sydney Rabbitohs?
And why the Rabbitohs, you ask?
Because of one man…
The Original Slammin’ Sam: Sam Burgess 🏉💥
Yep, Sam Burgess—aka Slammin’ Sam 1.0—is the reason my son is called Samuel and has now become Slammin’ Sam B (2.0).

If you don’t know his story, go watch The Sparkly Eyed Man—a documentary on YouTube by Russell Crowe. 💙 Watch it here
It’s one of the most powerful rugby documentaries out there, and for me, it was a game-changer during tough times.
Going through divorce, fighting for my eldest kids, and feeling like I was at rock bottom, that documentary gave me the spark I needed to smash through it (not literally—otherwise, I’d probably be writing this from a jail cell 😆).
So, naturally, when it came time to find the next rugby video for Sammy, I had to go to the last club I know Sam Burgess would be… the Rabbitohs!
And did they deliver? OH YES.
Not just one video—FOUR.
So that brings our count to:
🏉 Union: 3 (Ollie Lawrence, Finn Russell, Mark Wilson)
🏉 League: 4 (Campbell Graham, Jamie Humphries, Euan Aitken, Tyrone Munro)
Not that it’s a competition… 😉 because the rugby community as a whole is just amazing. 💙

In 2023, he was awarded the George Piggins Medal as South Sydney’s best and fairest player. Making his NRL debut in 2023, Munro showcased his scoring prowess by crossing the try line three times in his first three appearances. His agility and speed make him a constant threat on the wing, and his resilience was evident when he played exceptionally well shortly after personal tragedies. In 2024, Munro represented the Indigenous All Stars, further cementing his status as a player to watch. Despite facing injury challenges, including collarbone issues, he has demonstrated determination in his comebacks. With a recent contract extension keeping him at the Rabbitohs until the end of 2027, Munro’s blend of athleticism and tenacity positions him as a key contributor to South Sydney’s future successes.
